I would like to start this column with a recognition of our phenomenal growth over the past few months. Membership in SIG 18 has increased significantly attesting to the growing interest in telepractice as a tool for providing audiology and speech-language pathology services. I challenge new and established affiliates to consider leadership roles within SIG 18 to share your expertise and work to improve implementation of telepractice across all settings.
Issues forefront in the minds of tele-practitioners continue to be licensure and reimbursement. Evidence will lay the ground work necessary to drive resolution of these issues. I challenge you to engage in studies that will add to the body of evidence crucial to reaching our objective of making telepractice an option for delivering services.
